LEADER Initiative

Innovation is a priority for EU’s Rural Development

Policy and through the LEADER CLLD initiative,
which is funded by the EAFRD funding tool and

aims at sustainable development of rural areas.

LEADER CLLD, is implemented under the National

or Regional Rural Development Programmes and
provide direct funding to entrepreneurs based in

rural areas of Europe (Commission, n.d.).
